Servo-controlled valves

Servo-controlled valves or servo-controlled solenoid valves are used in various applications - e.g. in washing machines for connection to the water network - as water supply valves. When connecting to the drinking water network, it is especially important that certified materials are used and that the valve is resistant to pressure surges in accordance with EN60730-2.8.

A minimum pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the valve is required for the actuation of a servo-controlled valve, because the medium itself assists the opening and closing process of the valve. The solenoid system merely initiates the process.  The pressure range required for the function can be found in the series data sheets.

Application examples for servo-controlled valves

Servo-controlled valves are used in a wide variety of appliances to control the water inlet, usually from the water mains. Valves of nominal sizes DN 10 to DN 21 are frequently found in commercial washing machines and dishwashers. Valves with these nominal diameters are also used, for example, in irrigation systems. Smaller nominal diameters (DN 7 - DN 10) are used as inlet valves in beverage vending machines, industrial dosing or temperature control equipment. In the following list, some application areas are mentioned as examples. In addition, we offer a large number of variants for customer-specific requirements. Different designs are also possible depending on the application, e.g. as an angle or globe valve, with different connections or with multiple valve chambers. The latter enables media distribution in order to switch different media paths for e.g. fabric softener.

  • irrigation systems
  • Beverage dispensers (vending)
  • dosing / temperature control units
  • steam cookers
  • welding machines
  • photo developing machines
  • sanitary equipment
  • equipment for the textile industry
  • water treatment, e.g. reverse osmosis plants
